FAQ
Do you offer free phone consultations?
Yes, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and confirm we are a good fit before booking.
How many sessions will I need?
The short answer is: it depends entirely on your unique goals and needs.
The duration of therapy varies based on the scope of your concerns, whether you are seeking short-term solution-focused support, and external factors like budget or schedule flexibility. Some clients seek targeted tools over 6 to 10 sessions, while others integrate ongoing therapy into their personal growth and wellness routines. During our initial session, we will collaboratively map out a plan and pace that feels effective for you.
How does online counselling work?
I offer secure, online video counselling across British Columbia via Zoom. The platform is fully encrypted and complies with healthcare privacy standards set by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and provincial privacy legislation.
Once you book a session online, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a direct, private link to our video room. Before your first appointment, please download and review the All About Online Counselling document included in your confirmation email to ensure a seamless setup.
What Are Connor’s Fees?
My rates follow the fee guidelines established by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors in 2026:
Individual Therapy Sessions (50–60 minutes): $170
Couples Therapy Sessions (50–60 minutes): $200
Will my extended health benefits cover counselling?
Most extended healthcare plans in British Columbia cover services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
Because coverage details vary by provider, I recommend confirming your specific plan limits with your insurance provider or HR department. Following each session, you will receive a detailed receipt featuring my RCC registration number, which you can submit directly to your insurer for reimbursement.
Sliding scale counselling
Yes. I reserve dedicated sliding scale spots for individuals facing financial barriers to mental health support.
Sliding scale rates range between $85 and $115 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Rates are determined based on household income, insurance coverage, and employment status. If you require sliding scale rates, please reach out prior to booking your initial consultation so we can discuss availability and documentation requirements.
What methods of payment are accepted?
I accept Interac e-Transfer and all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). Payment is processed at the end of each session.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours notice for cancellations to avoid being charged a late cancellation fee of $85.

What if counselling isn’t working for me?
Your progress, safety, and comfort are my top priorities. Therapy relies on a strong therapeutic fit; if our work together isn't meeting your expectations, I encourage an open conversation so we can adjust our approach.
If you prefer to transition to another practitioner, I am glad to provide trusted referrals to experienced Registered Clinical Counsellors, Canadian Certified Counsellors, or Registered Psychologists across Vancouver and BC.
