My Approach to Therapy
I anchor my practice in a Person-Centered therapeutic framework, a humanistic approach developed by Carl Rogers. I deeply believe that everyone possesses an innate drive toward healing, personal growth, and self-fulfillment.
When this natural trajectory is interrupted by societal pressures, demanding careers, critical relationships, or minority stress; we often drift away from our core identity. The gap between who you truly are and who the world expects you to be is a primary source of chronic stress, anxiety, and burnout.
Together, we will work in a collaborative, non-judgmental space designed to reverse this drift. By exploring your core beliefs, you can reconnect with your authentic self and navigate life’s challenges with renewed clarity.
To support this foundation, I integrate practical, evidence-based tools (such as CBT, DBT and ACT) tailored to your goals. Through our work, you will build:
Clarity on Values: Identify what truly matters to you in your relationships, identity, and career.
Grounded Confidence: Step away from imposter syndrome and perfectionism.
Healthy Boundaries: Protect your energy in high-demand environments without guilt.
Sustainable Resilience: Develop nervous system tools to manage anxiety and burnout.

Affirming Diversity
I practice from a person-centred, intersectional lens, welcoming clients from all cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and life experiences.
I don't view myself as an elevated expert dictating your life, but as a grounded co-facilitator guiding your path toward emotional balance. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ community members, professionals, and neurodivergent adults striving to live authentically.

Interventions & Therapeutic Approaches
Person Centred Therapy
Person-centred therapy is a non-directive approach that allows you to take the lead in the therapy room. Throughout our sessions, I encourage you to discover your own solutions that align with your true, authentic self.
This approach is especially beneficial if you are seeking to build self-confidence, deepen your sense of identity, navigate complex interpersonal relationships, or learn to trust your own decisions. More information on Person-Centred Therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a solution-focused approach that helps you challenge unhelpful thought loops and shift behavioral patterns contributing to your concerns. Together, we identify harmful thoughts and evaluate whether they align with reality—using practical strategies to reframe and overcome these patterns.
CBT is particularly effective for managing depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), grief and loss, and everyday stress. More information on CBT.
Gottman Couples Therapy
The Gottman Method is an empirical, research-backed framework for couples designed to deepen emotional intimacy, resolve ongoing conflict, and strengthen relationship stability. Through structured exercises, we work to identify unhelpful communication patterns, dismantle defensiveness or stonewalling, and build shared meaning and respect. This approach helps couples navigate recurring disagreements, rebuild trust, and cultivate long-term partnership resilience.. More information on the Gottman Method.
Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help you process and heal from distressing life experiences, traumatic memories, and ingrained emotional triggers. By using bilateral stimulation (such as side-to-side eye movements), EMDR helps your brain reprocess stuck memories so they lose their painful emotional intensity. This approach is ideal for working through trauma, PTSD, performance anxiety, deep-seated shame, and lingering emotional wounds. More information on EMDR.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you build psychological flexibility by teaching you how to accept uncomfortable thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. By learning mindfulness techniques and clarifying your core values, ACT empowers you to take meaningful action toward a rich and purposeful life, even in the presence of anxiety, self-doubt, or life transitions.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) provides practical, skill-based tools to help you manage intense emotions, reduce stress, and improve interpersonal relationships. By balancing acceptance with active change, DBT equips you with concrete strategies for mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and effective communication. This approach is particularly effective if you experience emotional dysregulation, chronic anxiety, impulsive patterns, or conflict in personal and professional relationships. More information on DBT.
Career Counselling
Career counselling helps you navigate workplace burnout, professional transitions, executive dysfunction, and alignment between your work and personal values. Together, we explore your unique strengths, identify systemic or interpersonal challenges in high-demand environments, and create actionable strategies for career growth, work-life boundaries, and authentic decision-making.
Beyond being a therapist
I believe it is important that you know more about myself than my degrees and qualifications as this deepens the relationship I hopes to build with you as a client.
I have made the Lower Mainland home for the past 15-years, and was drawn to the area because it combines my two favourite environments: the coast and the mountains. Prior to living in Vancouver, I was born and raised in Calgary Alberta, and lived in Antigonish Nova Scotia while I completed my undergraduate degree. Having lived in three provinces, I’ve had the privilege of meeting a slice of the diversity that makes up Canada, and I use this exposure throughout my personal and professional life.
Travelling is also a favourite pass-time of mine and I engage with when I have the time. Whether it’s road-trips around BC and the Pacific Northwest or adventures in far off places, travel allows me to gain insight on the diversity of cultures, people, and new experiences that add to my personal growth and development.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking advantage of what BC has to offer. I love to explore the coastal mountains, soak up the sun on Third Beach during hot summer days, bike around the city, enjoy a pint at a craft brewery, and unwind with some Netflix.
