Depression & Mood Support: Reconnect with Vitality, Purpose, & Hope

Gentle, Evidence-Based Support for Low Mood, Heavy Fatigue, and Burnout

Depression rarely looks like constant sadness. More often, it feels like a heavy fog; a profound sense of emotional numbness, persistent fatigue, loss of motivation, and a feeling that even minor daily tasks require monumental effort.

In a fast-paced environment like Vancouver, struggling with low mood can leave you feeling isolated and disconnected from friends, family, and your career. For high-achieving professionals, queer adults, and neurodivergent individuals, depression often follows periods of prolonged stress, masking, or unaddressed ADHD burnout, leaving you stuck in cycles of harsh self-criticism and withdrawal.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Vancouver, I offer a gentle, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where we go at your pace. Together, we unpack the root causes of low mood, restore self-compassion, and rebuild a sense of meaningful connection to your life.

Key Challenges We Address in Depression Therapy

Depression affects your body, your thoughts, and your relationships. We address both the emotional heaviness and the practical daily hurdles.

Core Areas We Support:

  • Persistent Low Energy & Fatigue: Managing the physical exhaustion, brain fog, and heavy limbs that make daily routines feel overwhelming.

  • Loss of Interest & Anhedonia: Working through feelings of numbness, apathy, and the frustration of no longer finding joy in activities you used to love.

  • Harsh Self-Criticism & Guilt: Interrupting internal narratives that tell you that you are "lazy," "failing," or a burden to others.

  • ADHD Burnout & Executive Fatigue: Addressing depressive episodes triggered by chronic executive dysfunction, sensory overload, or workplace masking.

  • Social Isolation & Withdrawal: Breaking the cycle of pulling away from friends, partners, and community support when you feel overwhelmed.

Therapeutic Approaches to Depression & Mood

I combine evidence-based therapeutic models tailored to help you rebuild momentum softly and sustainably:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Identifies cognitive distortions, negative self-evaluations, and catastrophic thinking loops that deepen depressive moods.

  • Behavioral Activation Principles: Helps you gradually re-introduce small, manageable, low-friction activities that boost natural dopamine, accomplishment, and connection.

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): Teaches self-compassion and psychological flexibility, helping you take small, meaningful steps aligned with your values even when motivation is low.

  • Person-Centred & Humanistic Therapy: Provides a deeply empathetic space where your feelings are validated without pressure to "fix" yourself overnight.

What to Expect in Our Sessions

  1. A Safe, Unhurried Space: You don't have to put on a brave face or perform. You are welcome exactly as you are, whether that means feeling quiet, tearful, or tired.

  2. Small, Sustainable Micro-Steps: We avoid overwhelming homework or unrealistic changes. We focus on gentle, achievable habits that rebuild daily energy and self-trust.

  3. Challenging the Inner Critic: We work to soften internalized shame, guilt, and perfectionist expectations that fuel feelings of inadequacy.

  4. Reconnecting with Meaning: We gradually explore what brings you genuine purpose, peace, and vitality, laying the foundation for long-term emotional health.
